Today you will visit Chiangmai city tour by local Tuk Tuk, include Wat Pra Singh, It is one of over 200 ancient Buddhist temples located around the city, one of the most well regarded examples of Lanna architecture. And Wat Chedi luang, The temple is the site of an enormous pagoda, originally 280 feet high, and which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. Then transfer by minivan to Warorot market, to see and feel the real northern people’s way of life.
After lunch at local restaurant, you will enjoy a relaxing drive about 1hr which takes you to the Doi Suthep Mountain. Climb 309 steps (or for the less fitness-oriented, a tram is available for a small surcharge) to the top, enjoying a truly breathtaking scenery all along the way up to the top where you will find Wat Phra That, one of Northern Thailand’s most sacred temples. Have a panoramic views of the city of Chiang Mai.
The highlight of today is to join the famous Loy Krathong Festival and Yeepeng Lantern Festival at Naowarat bridge this evening. Thai people honor this festival by lighting and setting Kratongs (floating lanterns) to float down the river and releasing paper lanterns into the sky to make a wish for good fortune in the new year. Your guide will escort you to choose your floating lantern or sky lantern (own expense), then he will suggest you a best place to releas your lantern, and where you can also witnessing the spectacular scene of thousands of sky lanterns float up the sky without paying additional expensive entrance fee. Transfer back to hotel.
