Thai traditional art is mainly composed of Buddhist art and scenes in Indian epic. Traditional Thai sculptures almost completely depict the image of Buddha, very similar to other styles in Southeast Asia, such as Khmer. Traditional Thai paintings usually include book illustrations, as well as painted decorations for buildings such as palaces and temples.
Thai art is influenced by Mongolian and Khmer indigenous civilizations. During the Suhotai and Da Chengfu period, Thais have developed into their own unique style, and later further influenced by other Asian styles, mainly Sri Lanka and China.
