Go on a recreational dive in the open waters of Malapascua, Cebu through this fun dive activity. Since this takes place in open water, it is suited for experienced divers who have already gained their Advanced Open Water certification or its equivalent. During this 60-minute dive, you will also have access to basic scuba diving equipment and the services of a dive master and guide. You may also include a torch and dive computer as an add-on to this activity.
On the day of the dive, head to the Evolution Diving Resort any time between 9 AM and 1 PM. When you get to the dive center at the resort, you will go through a quick safety briefing before preparing to put on scuba gear. Afterward, you'll board a boat that will take you to the day's diving site. While the dive is a private session, you will also be sharing the boat with other divers.
You will be diving in one of several spots, including areas such as the Monad Shoal, Evolution Resort's House Reef, The Lighthouse, Lapus Lapus, Bustong Bato, North Point, Ka Osting, Dakit Dakit, Kimud Shoal, and Chocolate Island. The assigned dive spot depends largely on the day's weather and tides. However, you are free to request a specific dive site, but it will be subject to change if the dive master does not deem it safe during the day of your activity.
During your 60 minutes underwater, you will likely witness thresher sharks swim around as Malapascua Island is a natural habitat of this species. Along with thresher sharks, the waters of Malapascua are also home to other species like Mandarin fish and clown fish. Please remember to keep a safe distance from the marine animals as well to avoid harming them and damaging their habitat.
