Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket

Last Updated: January 10,2020

The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket is a newly opened branch of the famous eco elephant tourism project - Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai. The goal of Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is to give as many elephants as possible the health care, natural environment and freedom they should have.

The park's founder intends to use the elephant eco-tourism as a platform to raise awareness and to educate the public of Thailand and around the world about the plight of Asian elephants and the welfare of Thai elephants. Here, you will see elephants just being themselves. No riding, no hooking, no performance, but a future of coexistence, love and respect. Yes, the elephant camp is a lot even too much in Phuket, but the new sanctuary camp has gradually pointed out a new direction. Wise change!

# Brief introduction

Arrive at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket. Enjoy a welcome snack, sip tea or coffee. First of all, the staff will briefly describe the rehabilitation camps and their eco-program. Unfortunately, for elephants, old-fashioned tourism is still popular in many parts of Thailand.

The sanctuary invites you to change old-fashioned mindset while providing a unique experience. To touch them gently but not release a domesticated elephant to nature or abuse them.

# Meet the elephants & Feeding the elephants

Feeding elephants. Then, the staff will show the visitors how to prepare food for the elephants. It's a little messy while interesting process. Once the food is ready, a small herd of elephants will come here to enjoy their feast. Everyone have the choice to tough their giant trunk when they grab the food from your hands.

# Mud spa with the elephants.

Food is consumed much faster than you think, and then you will be invite to walk to a nearby pond. The elephant trot in mud pond and began to enjoy bathing. Visitors can easily jump into the water, but be prepared to be soaked all over. The group later move into a clean pond, where everyone could wash away the mud and start another round (not to mention those memorable photos).
