Today, you'll journey to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. You'll ascend to the wall via cable car, where you can get a stunning aerial view of the wall and its surroundings. Once you're atop the wall, you'll be able to stroll along its storied pathways, watchtowers, and taking in the vast, panoramic views of the area's rolling hills and valleys.

In the afternoon, you’ll head over to the courtyards of the Temple of Heaven Park. Your tour guide will share the temple’s history and stories, showing you what emperor worship was like. You'll visit major sites within the park, including the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, the Echo Wall, the Nine-Dragon Cypress, and the Circular Mound Altar, among others.

Afterwards, you’ll get to join in a Tai Chi session with locals at the park. This traditional Chinese martial art is a beloved morning ritual practiced daily by Beijing residents. It's a unique opportunity to connect with locals through this ancient practice.

Begin your day at the Summer Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the East Gate’s Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, stroll along the Long Corridor, and view the Marble Boat.

As you return through the palace, visit the tranquil Yonghe Temple, known for its unique blend of Tibetan and Han Chinese architecture.

Continue to the Hall of Dispelling Clouds and the Tower of Buddhist Incense, and end your tour at the north gate of the Summer Palace.

Enjoy some free time until your guide arrives to take you to the high-speed train station. You’ll then embark on a 4.5-hour ride to Xi'an. Upon arrival, your personal guide will greet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel with a private car, where you’ll be assisted with your luggage and check-in.

Depart from your hotel and venture to the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage-listed site of the Terracotta Army. Listen as your guide sets the historical scene and describes how 7,000 life-sized terracotta figures and horses were buried beside Emperor Qin Shihuang in his majestic mausoleum. After picking you up from your hotel, then wind your way through the narrow streets and alleys by tuktuk within the Xi'an City Wall to find the best food in the city.   We'll take you places where only locals go.   You'll cover a lot of ground and get off the beaten path to family-run restaurants that you (and other tourists) won’t find on your own.   Between food stops, you’ll be able to chat with your English-speaking guide about the city while drinking unlimited chilled beer and soda during the ride.

While visiting our 4-5 food stops, you will get to learn about the families that have been making their specialties for generations. You'll watch your food being made and learn about what makes it so special to Xi'an locals. Whether it's sitting by an old man grilling meat over coals in a quaint Muslim Quarter alleyway, or watching noodles hand-pulled to order, there is something to try for everyone. The tour will finish at the only local brewery in Xi'an where you can tour the facility and sample what's on tap before we treat you to a pint of your choice.

You’ll finish the day at the historic Pelkor Chode Monastery and Kumbum Stupa. Explore the ancient halls, ornate pagodas, and sacred shrines of this revered complex and UNESCO site, as your guide takes you through its rich history and cultural heritage.
