Thai eVisa on arrival
Thailand currently offers visa-free travel to nationals of 64 countries and territories. Thai visa on arrival is only issued to citizens of certain countries for a non-extendable period of 15 days. These are the 18 countries eligible for a tourist Thai eVisa:
What makes it even more convenient is that nationals from 18 countries can obtain visas on arrival online.
This means that instead of applying for a Thai tourist visa upon arrival at the airport, travelers can now apply for a visa online from the comfort of their home before they travel to Thailand.
The Thai e-Visa on Arrival allows travelers to avoid long lines at the border and pass through a dedicated express line upon arrival.
Extending your stay in Thailand
Your visa-free stay in Thailand can be extended once per entry. In most cases, it can be extended by 30 days. The visa extension due to COVID is valid for 60 days.
Visa Choices for Longer Visits
If you wish to stay in the country for a longer period of time, please know that normal 60-day tourist visas, 90-day special tourist visas, Thai Elite visas, and other non-immigrant visas are also available at Thai embassies or consulates around the world. Holders of these visas will still need to apply for a certificate of entry at the Thai Embassy in the country of departure.
Do you want to stay in Thailand for 5, 10 or 20 years? You may want to consider the Thailand Elite Visa Program. This is an easy-to-apply and hassle-free visa for your long-term stay in Thailand.
